Our Beard Balm has many benefits.
💡 Benefits of Those Ingredients in our Beard Balm
Beeswax
- Provides hold / structure, so the balm isn’t runny and helps tame fly-aways.
- Creates a protective barrier on the hair, which helps seal in moisture and defend against elements (wind, dry air).
- Helps give volume / weight to the beard when used in balms.
BTMS-50
- Conditioning: its a cationic conditioner, which helps smooth the hair shaft, reduce static, and make the beard feel softer and more manageable.
- Slip / detangling: Because it’s a conditioning agent, it gives some “slip” (makes the hair easier to comb through).
Shea Butter
- Deeply moisturizes: Rich in fatty acids and vitamins, shea butter helps hydrate both facial hair and the skin underneath.
- Anti-inflammatory: Can soothe itch, irritation, or “beard itch” / dryness.
- Helps improve skin barrier health, which can reduce “beardruff” (flaky skin underneath the beard).
- Adds a creamy, rich texture to the balm, making it feel luxurious / protective.
Cocoa Butter
- Very emollient: Helps soften and condition beard hair.
- Helps give a pleasant, spreadable texture: Cocoa butter is relatively firm but melts at body temp, which helps a balm feel “buttery” yet stable.
Cupuaçu Butter
- Superior Moisture Retention: Cupuaçu butter can absorb and trap water very effectively, making it excellent for keeping skin + hair hydrated.
- Skin Barrier Support: Strengthens the skin’s natural barrier and prevents moisture loss.
- Anti-inflammatory & Healing: Contains phytosterols and antioxidants that help calm irritated or dry skin.
- Hair Conditioning / Repair: Its fatty acid profile helps restore dry or brittle hair, improving softness and manageability.
- UV Protection: Some sources say it offers mild protection against UV radiation.
- Light, Non-Greasy Feel: Although very moisturizing, it absorbs reasonably well and doesn’t feel too heavy.
🔎 Why This Combo Is Especially Good for a Beard Balm
- Balanced Moisture + Hold: Beeswax offers structure, while the butters (shea, cocoa, cupuaçu) provide deep conditioning and hydration.
- Long-Lasting Hydration: With cupuaçu’s high water retention, the balm can help keep skin and beard hydrated for a long time.
- Control + Softness: BTMS-50 conditions and helps tame coarse beard hairs; the butters help soften those hairs so they’re not scratchy.
- Skin Health: The combination supports skin underneath (not just the hair): anti-inflammatory butters + barrier-protecting wax.
- Improved Texture: The butters give a luxurious, rich texture that melts nicely in hands; the BTMS helps emulsify if there are oils added; beeswax stabilizes.
